Loud Operation

At high speed, the E310 reaches approximately 88 dB — loud enough to wake sleeping family members or require ear protection in small kitchens. A sound enclosure is recommended for apartment dwellers.

No Preset Programs

44 mentions

Unlike the A-series Vitamix models, the E310 has no preset programs. Users who want one-touch smoothie cycles must manually control speed and timing.

10 years of smoothies and it's still perfect

Pros

  • +Zero issues after a decade of daily use
  • +Still as powerful as day one
  • +Every smoothie is perfectly smooth

Cons

  • -Loud — I use it before my family wakes

I bought my Vitamix E310 in 2015 and it has made two smoothies per day, every single day. That is over 7,000 blending cycles. It still runs like new. The motor has never hesitated, not once. I blend frozen açaí packs, frozen mango, and raw spinach together every morning and get a silky smooth result every time. This is the last blender I will ever buy. At $370, it works out to about $37 per year. You cannot find better value in the kitchen appliance category.

Incredible performance, incredibly loud

Pros

  • +Smoothest smoothies I've ever made
  • +Handles ice and frozen fruit with zero effort
  • +Cleanup is effortless

Cons

  • -Volume is genuinely alarming
  • -Woke my baby every morning for a month
  • -Wish it had a preset mode

There is nothing better for blending. Period. The results are professional-grade: zero fibrous chunks in green smoothies, perfectly crushed ice for frozen drinks, silky nut butters. The one caveat is the noise. At full power, this machine is as loud as a motorcycle. My apartment neighbors have knocked. I bought a sound enclosure box which brought it down to manageable. If noise is not a concern, buy this immediately.

Upgraded from Ninja — difference is night and day

Pros

  • +Texture of smoothies is completely different — no comparison
  • +Makes nut butter, soup, and dips too
  • +Container is easy to clean

Cons

  • -Size of container felt small at first
  • -No pulse button is a minor annoyance

I used a Ninja Professional for three years and was happy with it. Then I tried a friend's Vitamix and was embarrassed. The same green smoothie that came out slightly grainy in my Ninja was completely silky in the Vitamix. I bought the E310 the next day. The 48oz container is fine for 1-2 person households. I use it for smoothies, soups, hummus, and cashew cheese. It does everything better than my Ninja did. The noise is loud but I don't care — it takes 45 seconds to make a perfect smoothie.
