Recurring Issues

Common problems reported by multiple verified buyers

Gasket Degradation

112 mentions

The rubber gasket on the blade assembly wears out with regular use, causing leaks from the bottom of the cup. Replacement gaskets are cheap but many users find it annoying.

Motor Overheating

67 mentions

Blending for more than 60 seconds continuously can cause the motor to overheat and shut off. Users must blend in short bursts.

Cup Cracking

54 mentions

The plastic cups develop hairline cracks with regular use and temperature changes, usually within 6-12 months.

The reason I actually eat breakfast now

Verified

Pros

  • +30-second smoothies every morning
  • +Blend cup becomes travel cup
  • +Tiny footprint on counter

Cons

  • -Replaced gasket once at month 8
  • -Can't do large batches

Before the NutriBullet, I never ate breakfast. Now I throw banana, protein powder, frozen berries, and almond milk into the cup, twist it onto the base, blend for 30 seconds, swap the blade for the to-go lid, and I'm out the door. Total time: under 2 minutes. The gasket wore out at month 8 and started leaking — a $5 replacement fixed it. For the convenience and health habit it's created, this is the best $80 I've ever spent.

Gets the job done but feels disposable

Verified

Pros

  • +Convenient for simple smoothies
  • +Good price

Cons

  • -Cup cracked after 6 months
  • -Blade assembly rusted at threads
  • -Motor overheats with frozen mango

On its third replacement cup in 8 months. The first cracked, the second developed a hairline leak. The blade assembly threads are showing rust despite hand-washing only. The motor overheats if I blend frozen mango for more than 40 seconds — I have to do it in 20-second bursts. It works and makes decent smoothies, but it feels like a disposable product. I'm calculating whether the ongoing replacement parts make a Vitamix cheaper long-term.

Perfect dorm room companion

Declared
By Jordan W.Owned 4 monthsbeginner user2026-03-02

Pros

  • +Fits on my tiny dorm desk
  • +Quick and easy for between classes
  • +Affordable for a college student

Cons

  • -Can't really crush hard ice well

As a college student in a tiny dorm room, this is the perfect appliance. It takes up less space than my textbooks, makes a solid protein smoothie in 30 seconds, and cleanup is just rinsing the cup. My roommate now has one too. We keep frozen fruit in the mini fridge and blend every morning. It's nothing fancy but for the college lifestyle, it's exactly right. Wouldn't trade it for a full-size blender that would take up half my counter space.
