Zowie EC2-CW

I've been using EC2 mice in wired form since 2010 and the wireless CW version is the upgrade I always wanted. The shape is perfection for right-handed FPS play — the thumb rest, the rear hump, the button placement — 15 years of refinement shows. The 3200Hz polling rate is a genuine improvement; the cursor tracking feels microscopically smoother at my 3200 DPI sensitivity. The no-software philosophy is underappreciated. I play at local LAN events monthly and I just plug the dongle in and everything is exactly right without installing anything. This mouse is designed by and for serious competitive players.

For pure Counter-Strike 2 competitive play, this is exceptional — arguably the best wireless option available. The 3200Hz polling and the EC2 shape are both excellent for the precise, measured movement style CS demands. But outside of FPS games, the limitations show. When I tried it in Path of Exile, having no software meant I couldn't rebind the side buttons to the flask slots I needed. The four DPI presets also didn't include my 1800 DPI preference. As a CS-specific mouse, it's a 5-star product. As a general gaming mouse, the lack of any customization is constraining.

A teammate on my Faceit team kept telling me to try the Zowie EC2 and I resisted because it looks so basic for the price. I finally tried it and understood immediately. The shape feels like it was built for my hand specifically. My CS2 aim tightened noticeably after switching, particularly on streaks of micro-adjustments. The 3200Hz polling took adjustment — everything felt smoother but hypersensitive at first. After a week I'm completely used to it and couldn't go back. The no-software approach also means I can't accidentally misconfigure anything, which happened often with G Hub.
