Recurring Issues

Common problems reported by multiple verified buyers

No Mopping Function

53 mentions

A significant number of buyers expected mopping based on other Q-series models. The Q5 Pro+ is vacuum-only — clearly stated but still surprises many buyers.

Loud Dock Emptying

29 mentions

The self-emptying mechanism is noticeably louder than competitors like Roborock S8. Multiple reviews suggest scheduling emptying outside of quiet hours.

Corner Cleaning Gaps

18 mentions

Like most round robots, it leaves small amounts of debris in tight corners. The side brush helps but doesn't fully compensate.

Best bang-for-buck robot vacuum I've found

Verified
By Nathan B.Owned 5 monthsintermediate user2025-11-08

Pros

  • +Excellent LiDAR mapping
  • +Strong suction for the price
  • +Reliable self-emptying

Cons

  • -No mopping
  • -App took time to learn

I spent weeks comparing robot vacuums in the $300-$500 range and the Q5 Pro+ was the clear winner. The LiDAR navigation maps my 1800sqft home perfectly on the first run — no bumping into furniture, no getting stuck. Suction is legitimately strong; it picks up my golden retriever's fur even from the carpet. The self-emptying dock is a revelation. I went 6 weeks before needing to replace the bag. My only gripe is no mopping, but I knew that going in.

Great vacuum, dock is annoyingly loud

Pros

  • +Accurate room mapping
  • +Good suction power
  • +Set-and-forget convenience

Cons

  • -Dock emptying is very loud
  • -No mopping option

Overall really happy with this purchase. Mapping was accurate from day one and it cleans consistently. The suction handles everything from cereal to dog fur. My issue is the dock — when it empties, it sounds like a small jet engine. I have mine in an open-plan kitchen/living area, which means it wakes the baby if it empties during nap time. I've scheduled it to empty at 10pm now, which fixes the problem but it's annoying. Cleaning performance itself is an easy 5 stars.

Returned it — I needed mopping too

Verified
By Priya M.Owned 2 weeksbeginner user2026-01-14

Pros

  • +Genuinely good at vacuuming
  • +Easy initial setup

Cons

  • -No mopping whatsoever
  • -Price gap to mop version feels too large
  • -App requires phone account

Not a bad robot at all — I just didn't read carefully enough and assumed it would mop like other Roborock models I'd seen. The vacuuming is genuinely excellent and the navigation was impressive. But my kitchen floors are all tile and I really need mopping. The next step up with mopping is significantly more expensive. I returned this and bought the S7 MaxV. If you only need vacuuming, this is genuinely a great pick.
