Beautiful design, frustrating battery

Pros

  • +Stunning domed glass design
  • +Google Maps on wrist is game-changing
  • +Fitbit tracking is comprehensive

Cons

  • -Battery needs charging by 10pm daily
  • -Display feels small
  • -Paying for Fitbit Premium stings

The Pixel Watch 2 is the most beautiful smartwatch I've ever worn. The domed glass catches light perfectly and the minimal bezels (though still too thick) create an elegant look. Google Assistant and Maps work flawlessly — navigating while cycling with turn-by-turn on my wrist is incredible. But the battery. Oh, the battery. I put it on at 7am and by 9pm I'm at 15%. That means no sleep tracking unless I charge in the evening. For a watch this expensive, that's unacceptable.

Perfect Pixel companion, imperfect watch

Pros

  • +Seamless Pixel phone integration
  • +Google Wallet works everywhere
  • +Stress tracking is surprisingly useful

Cons

  • -Battery anxiety is constant
  • -Band options are limited and expensive

As a Pixel 8 Pro owner, this watch integrates perfectly. Phone calls, messages, Google Assistant — everything syncs instantly and works reliably. The stress management (cEDA sensor) actually helped me notice that my afternoon meetings spike my stress levels. But I can't recommend this without mentioning the battery: it's a daily charger, period. If Google ever fixes battery life, this becomes the best Android watch. Until then, it's merely good.

Returned after one week — too small, too short battery

Verified
By Derek P.Owned 1 weekintermediate user2026-02-28

Pros

  • +Looks premium on the wrist

Cons

  • -41mm is too small for my wrist
  • -Couldn't get through a full day
  • -No larger size option

I wanted to love this watch but two deal-breakers forced a return: First, the 41mm case is tiny on my 190mm wrist — there's no larger option like Samsung offers. Second, with AOD on and a 30-minute GPS run, I was at 20% by 6pm. I need a watch that lasts a full day without anxiety. Returned it for a Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 47mm and couldn't be happier. Google needs a larger size and better battery.
